Years ago, Trader Joe's used to sell duck breast at an amazingly low price. But they don't carry duck anymore. And in Phoenix, I could pop over to the Asian grocery store and get duck legs for about $2.89/lb.

I'm sure that Whole Foods carries duck breast, but I'm betting it's over $10/lb. Any other ideas for UNCOOOKED duck breast or duck legs? I'd like to get some for the holidays.

Fresh Market might be an idea. I need to pop into Whole Foods on the way home so I can verify your guess for the price of duck there. I suspect it may not be as expensive as you fear.

Grand Asia market used to sell both. Haven't looked for it in a while though so not sure if they still do.

Walk Ahead Farms sells duck at the Wake Forest farmers' market on Saturdays. I don't know what the price is, but their contact information is on the web site I linked to.

I (temporarily) declare defeat - the WF in Chapel Hill didn't have any fresh duck - all they had was frozen packed in a vacuum seal.

Walk Ahead Farms - whole duck only at $8/lb (according to their website)

I've checked Grand Asia several times and only ever found whole duck, fresh and frozen.

I've no problem with frozen duck- but I'd really just like the breast or legs.

You can also try The Meat House. They carry a wide variety.

Maybe try DaVincis in Wake Forest. If he doesn't have it, I'm sure he can get it.

I bought a whole duck there a year ago, and I remember seeing duck legs and breast for sale as well at the time. I don't remember the price, but Cliff's tends to be quite reasonable.
