That was exactly the point.

This thread wasn't really about which is the better university in the state, or which one allegedly parties more than the others.

My daughter is a music education major at ECU and we have been very impressed by the program so far and no it hasn't been easy. I also have kids who graduated from NC State another great school. I think there is a lot of partying at both school. For your education degree I think ECU would be a great choice. If you're going to live on campus laundry is free and I think they have a much better meal plan than State not huge issues but still nice.

The funniest thing about most of these posts is that they're attached to a train that went off the rails almost from the beginning.

ECU is a great school if it's offering the program you want and you're committed to making the most of it. I have several close friends who have graduated from ECU and whose children are attending right now and are doing great (one is a pure-bred academic who wanted to keep ECU in the family, the other a typical college student who's likely indulging a bit more than his parents would want to know about). Plus considering you're from Western NC it's likely that the area where the school is won't be much of an issue as you're not used to city life anyway.

The best advice I can give you as someone who has been around the block more time than he's willing to admit is trust your gut and go where it leads you. If ECU feels right, it's right.
