Does anyone happen to know why Ticketmaster is forcing buyers to use the "Best Available" option for the February 9th concert? It's infuriating because ever since the tickets went on sale a few weeks back the only locations that pop-up are nowhere near where I'd prefer to sit. It's like I'm being forced to alternate resale sites which means inflated prices.

I was just able to select upper level seats only. Now, they still make you use what their opinion of best available within that selection for the actual seats, but that's no different than any other event with TM. I would love to be able to select individual seats, but they just won't let you.

Go to a ticketmaster location, you can chose much easier.

I have used the customer service desk at Crabtree for the JT concert like 2 years ago and they were very helpful.

For Billy Joel, I logged in during the AMEX presale right at 10am when tickets went on sale and there were no floor seats available or lower level by the stage. Everything was already further back lower level.

Not quite true. Check out the Eagles, Casting Crowns or Miley Cyrus (all at PNC). TM lets you choose the specific seats you want.

Exactly! Thus my reason for being so frustrated, I don't want to sit on the side of the stage simply because they're a little closer.

Wow, I just must have not bought tickets to an event that allowed it. It must be some kind of event-by-event basis. I wonder if its up to the individual tour management? And why wouldn't you allow it?

If you go down to the PNC and buy them directly, they will allow you a bit more flexibility in choosing seats from what they have available.

Just FYI - he will be using a revolving piano for this concert so even if you are at the side of the stage, it's treated like "front stage". There aren't any bad seats up close...

Can you just go to the box office at PNC directly? I know that with, for example, the Progress Energy (or whatever it's called this week) Theatres downtown, if you go in person, not only do you save fees, but you can look at a seating chart and see what's available and ask them to pick that seat. Not sure if PNC works that way.

Glad I saw Billy Joel at the Dean Dome 20 years ago for a LOT cheaper and less rigamarole!
