I know most of them are closed on Christmas and New Year's Day. But what about other days? Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve, etc. I'm not talking about just banks, grocery stores, hair salons but also doctors, dentists, office people, etc.

Are you still working on most days or do you get a whole week or two off?

Totally depends on a case by case basis. Most large employers I know, and small local businesses are closed Christmas Day and New Years Day. My job gives off Christmas Eve and the Day after Christmas, but not all places do. Many people take the entire week off for Christmas, but they are using personal vacation time, the office is not closed.

Our office is closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Day. I'll be working the rest of the days and will be quite busy. No rest for accountants at year end!

I'm a contractor at USPS. We get Christmas and New Years and that's it. I'm taking a few extra days off.

My company provides the same holidays.

I've got some flexibility during the holidays, so I'll spend most -if not all - of the next two weeks at home, although working a bit each day.

Company wide shut down from Christmas day through New Year's day. Christmas and New Years are Holidays, the rest are mandatory PTO days. I like it...no emails to respond to.

Our office is closed 12/24-25-26 and 12/31. Typicallyl I take off around 12/23 & come back after new years. But since we aren't making big travel plans this year I am in the office except for the aforementioned days. I love it because it's quiet, less people here to bother me, & the traffic is incredibly light.

My boss is self-employed. Our #1 client closes between Christmas and New Years, so we usually do too. I just had surgery and will be out at least a month, so that's a good thing! I won't be missing much!
