Yes. I figured that out without you having to tell me

Don't feel bad, I thought I was going to click on a thread about the bands reunion tour and see some sweet mullet pics. Most disappointing thread ever

I suspect you'll see a miles driven tax in addition to the current gas tax.

I have 2 garages. The one attached to the house has a pitiful three 120V GFCI outlets, with one being pretty useless as it is on the ceiling for the garage door opener. The second garage is detached and has about 5 or 6 120V GFCI outlets, plus a big honkin' 240V outlet. It was installed for an air compressor, but could be a selling point for someone with an electric car.
That would be nice. We got a free one from Progress Energy back before they merged with Duke and ended the program.

I think they're beautiful.

Just out of curiosity, could you define "poorly designed and cheaply made?"

I had a 100 amp sub panel installed in my garage when the house was built (so I would have enough power for tools) but I knew it would make it very simple to add a 240 volt outlet for an electric car also.

Or one about Tesla vs Edison. Sadly, most people only know the name Tesla because of the band and car. Edison was a genius at marketing. Tesla was a genius inventor.

When we built our detached/alleyway garage last year, we pre-ran conduits and left enough box capacity to add 240V outlets in two of the three bays (the two largest - the third is for the garage-apartment tenant.) Definitely think that by the time we sell they will be needed. We also anticipate adding solar panels on the south-facing roof side to maximize our ability to get renewable energy for cars and our main house.
