Am I missing something, or is it $110/month for a 4GB plan w/a smart phone?

My .02:

I took advantage of the free phone with new contract deal on Black Friday and switched to AT&T from Verizon. I have a Galaxy S4 Active and used it while running all over town Christmas shopping between Wake Forest, North Raleigh, Cary and RTP. I've had no issues and the speed was very good. I think the kind of phone you get plays a part as well.

They have three different service plans, and can play the rate three ways.
Join the NAR and get 18% off the $70!

Again, you have to clock your usage, and 4GB is a fair amount. I think Mrs. and I would stay under it.

Why did you leave Verizon?

I have AT&T. I'm quite happy with LTE support at my house (near Hwy 98 / Creedmoor Rd) as well as at work (IBM in RTP). 3 bars at home; 5 bars at work.

- Because after 15 years of being with Verizon we get no price breaks or discounts on upgraded service or new equipment. Apparently loyalty doesn't matter anymore with any of the carriers.
- Coverage was about the same based on where I travel.
- I needed a new phone as inexpensively as possible.
- I get a substantial discount on AT&T service because of my employer.

Although not directed towards me, my wife recently switched from Verizon to AT&T. I already had AT&T, and when comparing reception at work and at home, AT&T was much better than Verizon. I realize reception can be location-specific, but for us AT&T was better.

Well, I meant more for myself.. $95/$110 is a big jump up from my $55/plan. I think I'll be with Sprint a while longer..

Understood. For us, it is about a $27 increase with two new phones.
$156 to $183 +/-.

And, then I would want to add the tablet, for about $11 more...

$38/month, plus a few hundred out of pocket to change, is giving me pause...
The current specials run for about 10 more days, so I'm not feeling great urgency to move. Only to understand.

LOL

So, I checked my data usage on my phone for the last month, and half of it has been burned up with SpeedTest!
Really.
And GOOG free apps use a lot of data tracking me. #@ )*&&^%$*!!

I'm headed for a 2GB plan to start out...
