After a bloody dragout fight Publix lost with Falls River over a store at the corner of Falls and Dunn, new development has finally come. Brixx, Dunkin Donuts, a wine shop, the Butcher’s Market, and a pub are coming along with 32 apartments.

Do you think it's too late for me to put up new nesting houses for different birds? I know some birds scout out sites really early and that they're already nesting. Maybe I'll just try to give them feed and water instead, until next year.

Also, I got an email that World Market is having a sale on birdbaths on Mother's Day. I don't know if I'm just getting older and more frugal, but the birdbaths there seem pretty expensive to me.

It’s not too late. Birds get displaced for some reason all the time, and it’s good to have housing open for that reason. It’s still a good time for Bluebirds or chickadees and wrens.

Looks like they're beginning to install traffic lights at the corner of Davis Drive and Little Drive on the edge of RTP. Considering the connection with O'Kelly Chapel and the impending opening of Parkside ES, I can say that a light there is obviously needed.

Five days until we close

Did a drive-by of the house today and the lawn and garden beds are an overrun mess.

Bets on whether they mow one last time before closing?

Feel most rednecks stick to places like Emerald Isle , Atlantic beach , Carolina beach . That’s the vibe I get from people I know and where they typically vacation at. Myrtle beach is trashy nowadays , it’s not even a “redneck” thing.
