I was just at WRAL.com myself and thought the same - I miss the seven day weather view snapshot. Perhaps it will get better with time.
Certainly a big increase in "white" space which seems to be the trend these days.
Ironic that after viewing the new WRAL site, I thought "I bet CD has a thread on this". :-)
I don't use their site much - thanks for pointing out the new format.
I had always found their site rather cluttered and sometimes difficult to find things. The new layout looks much simpler, and oriented more as a news site than a site of "here's everything and anything." I hope I find it more useful.
I do find the site a bit more pleasing to look at and modern looking, but definitely more scrolling to see the same amount of stories as before. I wish they would have it programmed to actually take advantage of wider windows as well. Kind of silly to have all that blank space to the left and even if you are full screen on a large monitor, the blank area is even bigger.
I like the old version better. It seemed to be easier to scan through the various stories to see if there was anything of interest.
I agree with you. I mainly use the site for the weather forecast and the detailed forecast for next few days, so at least knowing when it was likely to be raining to plan the days. Now you can only see the hourly forecast for the current day and an summary for future days. Either my browser is not compatible with the website, or it's something that WRAL may want to change.
I don't care for it. I used to check it almost every day, but I find it harder to read now. Too much empty space on the side and the font is so narrow.
