Hello,

I am looking for a place to rent, preferably a 2-3 bedroom townhouse in a nice neighborhood in Durham. I commute to Raleigh and my girlfriend commutes to Hillsborough everyday, so we are looking for a place somewhere in the middle.

I would appreciate it if you could direct me towards a good neighborhood to start our search.

thanks

You might try the South Square area - I can get to Hillsborough in 25 minutes from there. It's not a bad commute to Raleigh either but it depends on where in Raleigh. Near 540 is better. What takes a long time is getting to 40 along MLK

South Square is around University Drive and Chapel Hill Road, close to Chapel Hill.

There are some cute townhomes in Woodcroft and Hope Valley Farms. In fact, HVF has some new ones that have just been built just up from the intersection of Hope Valley Road and S. Roxboro Road.

Doesn't Highway 70 run between Raleigh and Hillsborough by way of Durham? Not sure what neighborhoods are out there, nice woods though.

I too would recommend the townhomes at Hope Valley Farms. I think that area is very nice and easily accessible to anywhere.

I live in NE Durham in Grove Park. Some nice homes, very reasonably priced. Single family homes run around 160,000-200,000 for the bed / bath you are looking at. My husband commutes to Raleigh every day and I work at DUke. However, we are close to both I-85 (for Hillsborough) which never gets very busy, and 70 for Raleigh commute.
