And came out of nowhere. I don't even remember them predicting severe storms. Didn't see any severe weather warning crawls on the TV. The power went out (I assume from the wind?) before we even heard the first thunderclap. Then all hell broke loose.

The Watches were issued earlier, but the Warning came pretty quickly.
A friend in a neighborhood in N Raleigh that wound up with trees down said his phone Emergency Warning Alert started beeping. He checked the message and then surfed to a local weather station to get a radar map. After waiting for the requisite 30 second beer commercial to complete, the map displayed as the trees were falling.

We were unloading the uhaul when it went through morrisville. Not a banner day for an in town move! =)
