These morons are driving me insane. I have tried to get the delivery if this "paper" stopped for several years yet they still throw one on my lawn/driveway every so often. This ticks me off for several reasons:

1) I did not ask to get it - nor do I want it
2) I travel quite a bit so an old paper laying on my lawn is an obvious sign I am not home
3) I have called seemingly a hundred times but either get an employee who can't help or someone who says they still stop it but it never happens

Anyone else having this same problem and successfully gotten them to stop?

At this point I am throwing them into a large box in my garage and when I accumulate enough of them I am going to head to their offices and throw them all over their place. Maybe they will get the hint then.

I also live in North Raleigh and we don't get them delivered to our house anymore but I did nothing to stop it.

Either get up at godawful-in-the-morning when they come back, and tell them to cease and desist, or maybe put a sign saying "Do not leave North Raleigh News here!" if calling the paper itself doesn't work.

Like you, I despise these papers. I never asked for it, I never read it, I don't want it at the end of my driveway. It goes straight in the trash. It's a waste.

I had luck with emailing to stop delivery, but that was with the Southwest Wake News.

We used to get the Cary News. It was annoying as hell. All we did was recycle them constantly.

I'm just chiming in to basically agree with everyone on this thread. Half of the time the papers are soaking wet by the time I get home, so they go straight into the trash. What a waste of time and money to be giving this small free editions out in every part of Wake County. I like the OP's method of getting rid of them!

Some ideas....................

NOTE: you cannot threaten to collect all of the papers from driveways and dump them on someone’s property.

*Only an attorney can stop the delivery for you, you will never be taken seriously by the paper without one.

*A cheaper way is to send a certified letter, preceded by and followed by a complaint to the local government Consumer Affairs office (the name obviously varies). The effect of the certified letter is to prove that you really did make the request.

* Make a litter complaint.

I couldn't get the News and Observer to listen to me even while I was a paying customer.

Am I correct in assuming that all of these free neighborhood newspapers (North Raleigh, Southwest Wake, etc) are all produced by the N&O?
