Do you still have your Christmas tree up? Where can we take ours to recycle it in Southern Wake...that is recycle it when we take it down.

Depends on where you are in Wake County. The City of Raleigh will pick them up with the regular yard waste collection but if you're in the county then you can probably just burn it or dispose of it with your other yard waste.

This article has locations and information although it's a bit confusing on whether you just missed the Jan. 19 deadline or really still have until March 1. I would call the Multi-Materials Recycling Facility in Apex to see if they will still accept it.

No! It's bad luck to keep it up past New Year's Day

Winterpast Farm and Petting Zoo in Raleigh (on Ghoston just off of 98) would love to have them.
Farmer Mary is your contact.
You'll have to google for phone.

Wonderful! Just what I was looking for... a place that will repurpose the tree. Thanks!

Explains a lot. Anyway I am going to contact the folks at Winterpast farm. Maybe next year I can get all the neighbors together and take our trees up there. Thanks!

Actually considered that myself...but the tree turned out to be one of the most beautiful we have had, guess that is why I want to repurpose it. Anyway, I had hoped to find a place that would turn it to mulch for me so I could use it in the garden...but the other suggestions will work as well. Thanks.
