I am very sad about their closing. Any suggestions on where I could find similar pizza in the downtown area?

I can't help you with a downtown location but you should give Serena's a whirl (RTP and North Raleigh), they have awesome artisan pizza.

Cafe Caturra in Cary is still open.

Also, Tazza Kitchen that is taking over the spot in Raleigh is owned by the same people.

FYI, it seems that Cafe Caturra in Cary will also become Tazza Kitchen. From what I've been told it'll start to change sometime around April. OP, get your fix in before then!

The Tazza Kitchen menu looks almost identical to that of Cafe Caturra Cary (have never been to the Raleigh location), including the artisan-style pizzas...hopefully that means you'll still be able to get your favorites!

Very different. All the sandwiches are gone, the price-friendly soup/salad combo is gone, the delicious breads and spreads appetizer is gone, the creamy tomato basil soup is gone...sigh...
