Interesting development. I heard about it on NPR on my way to work (in RTP). I think it could be a good thing if well planned and executed.

Twenty years ago offshore sourcing became all the rage as it allowed large companies to gain access to a much more affordable, well-educated workforce. Now there's a renewed emphasis on relocating back-office operations to areas of our country where labor is cheaper, cost of living more favorable and real estate plentiful. With our university system, convenient proximity to major commerce centers and an established community of seasoned professionals the Triangle is ripe for expansion.

And so I think this is potentially awesome news.

Maybe the proposal for a new research hub in Pittsboro has shaken things up.

This has been in the works for a couple of years.

The proposed development near Pittsboro is not really a "research hub."
