There are occasionally posts here with folks looking for a place they can move to that allows pets. The info below is from Wake County Animal Center's Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/FriendsOfWa...tyAnimalCenter). It is focused on Pits, but is applicable to other breeds and large size dogs.

(I don't know how to post a link to a specific FB post, so the text is pasted below.)

******

We are so happy to finally be able to provide the residents of the Triangle Area with a list of PIT BULL FRIENDLY apartments. So many pits and pit mixes are surrendered to shelters because their owners claim they can't find an apartment so we asked some of the volunteers to help us find the places that will accept all breeds. These complexes are proud of their no breed restrictions and would love for you to become a resident. Please share with everyone you know.

PS : If you know of any other complexes please let us know their info and we will update our list.

Hi, I would just like to let everyone know I currently live in Brookview apartment homes and they are shutting down and giving everyone in the neighborhood two months notice to vacate... with that being said they are no longer available for rent and their other properties (Clover Lane and Oakwood) are no longer accepting pitbulls.

Suggestion for Pet Owner to-be renters:

Eyeball the outside of the apartments before you sign.

My apartment complex allows cats and small dogs, and there are quite a few here.
For a while, there were problems with owners not picking up after their pets, despite the many waste bag dispensers and trash receptacles. Then the management started actually hitting up those bad ones with $50 fines, and it 'cleared up" (pun intended).

But the outside landscaping was done to look pretty (read: attract new renters), and actually resulted in relatively little actual flat grass area. There are trees, bushes, etc, with plant or gravel cover that's not attractive to pets, leaving little strips of grass 3 feet wide between sidewalks and buildings or roads.

At least 70% of all the flat, open grass throughout the apartment shows signs of distress that comes from dog and cat pee. Also, between 6-7 pm weekdays, it's pet-walking rush hour, walking the circle around the building, and while some pets like to meet others, some really get stressed with such little walk areas.

Hi everyone,

I think this list needs to be updated. Clover lane is no longer in business, it is now ran by KANE residential management and is called "the Mordecai on Clover Townhomes" they are luxury places starting at $1045. However, they are a no breed and weight restrictions for dogs.

I did notice a list on here that had Camden Park Townhomes with a (919) 480-3525 phone number. That is wrong, either Camden Park does not exist or someone listed the wrong number. Either way I cannot find this place. The number listed belongs to a business that lists million dollar homes throughout the triangle area.
