It is December. No announcement yet, but the fact that they are registering a corporation in NC bodes well. Google Fiber creates NC company, paving legal way for possible network :: The Skinny at WRAL TechWire

Austin went live w google fiber in November...the project was officially announced in April 2013. To give everyone an idea of timeline here...we've likely got a ways to go for google. Frontier ATT and others may move quicker.

How do you know where? I live in Cary but can't even get uverse, so I don't get too optimistic about these things. Not to mention cell reception sucks in NorthWest Cary too.
