Does anyone around raleigh, wake forest area used ARS for HVAC replacement. How experienced are the installers and would you recommend? I need to get my HVAC replaced.

Thanks,
Amanda

In addition to the referrals you will receive in response to your question, do yourself a favor and get 3 quotes. There is a huge fluctuation in pricing.

I've used Triangle Comfort heating and cooling for service after another contractor did the install and my neighbor had them do installs. We're both very happy with the quality of service and pricing. The owners have been in business for a while. I used ARS for service years back and was not impressed and found them to be costly.

Get a quote from Justin Woodleif 919-796-2017 and pocket the extra couple grand ARS will charge you.

I have replaced both my upstairs and downstairs systems using ARS -- 2005 and 2008 I believe. They have done other work for me also. I've been pleased.

Thanks for the response. I went through Home Depot for the HVAC replacement quote and ARS was their assigned installer. I am wondering if ARS is any good. The product is only as good as the installers so I am interested in the installers' experiences. Also, if those on the forum don't mind sharing some quote estimates. I am being quoted: rheum (RRNL) 13 seer, 3 ton, 36K heating capacity for ~5K. It's a two story house ~3200 sqf

Did they do a calculation on the size needed? Too big can be as bad as too small.

I'd get a few more quotes. One thing to consider is to have a 15 or 16 seer system quoted. It may cost just a tad more and will benefit you in the long run.

@ don6170, I am assuming that since this request came from Home Depot that they did all the necessary calculations. They actually gave me two options, one for a 13 SEER and one for a 14 SEER.

I wouldn't use them if they were the last company in the Triangle. They came out for work under my home warranty, could not have been pushier, were ridiculously overpriced for the extra thing I wanted done and NEVER stopped telemarketing me till I answered the phone and just pretended not to speak English.
