I've been invited to a Saint Patrick's Day party. And I've been asked to bring some Irish Harp beer. I checked at my local Lowes Foods but no luck. Does anyone have an idea where I could find some? What are some other good (non stout) Irish beers?

Total Wine supposed to have Harp Lager. you could also call East Wake Wine & Brew in Knightdale to see if they have any.

I've either seen it at Food Lion or Total Wine, but I can't remember which!

Total Wine certainly has it.

You can get it at Harris Teeter, Tasty Beverage, or Peace Street Market. Total Wine, too. There's also a beer/wine store up in Briar Creek shopping center that has it, but I can't remember the name of the store.

You're probably thinking of the Total Wine in Brier Creek maybe?

Thanks for all the replies! Somehow I never thought of Total Wine. I forgot they sell beer also. And I might be near a Harris Teeter tomorrow and could check there.

You can also check at Triangle Wine Co. if you are near Morrisville at all.

Smithwicks (prounounced "Smitticks") is one of my favorite session beers.
In addition to Stout, Murphy's makes a good Irish Red

You could also use a site like BEER ADVOCATE to find more, but if it were me, I'd go with a mix of Smithwicks, Harp and Murphy's.

Or impress them and go LOCAL

(Please don't be tricked into showing up with Killians.)
