I don't know if they still have it, but Lowe's Hardware used to have book with samples from which you could order any size rug you wanted. I haven't shopped for an area rug in awhile though so they may not offer this any longer.

Default Open until 9 and on Sunday

I have been lucky at Homegoods...there is one in Raleigh in Briarcreek.
They are not the rugs that cost thousands but sometimes you get lucky and find nice ones.
it is hit or miss though.

The one in Raleigh is my favorite and it may also be the largest.
There is also one in Durham, one in Apex, and another in Crossroads.

To the best of my knowledge, they don't deliver.

I'd also recommend Capel Rugs.

I buy a lot of rugs on overstock.

You can't seem them in person, but just looking at reviews and the online description, you usually can find very good deals on there.

I've got several really nice wool rugs that would have cost a lot more in local stores.

Yep, I agree. However, I suspect Mom wants to see it in person.

Hey, that last image you posted is the same design we got for our Breakfast area. We got it at Home Depot in Wake Forest! I'd go check and see what sizes they have. You can see and touch it and order a bigger one and I think they do free delivery. . .

I have shopped for area rugs at Lowes, Home depot and Bed Bath and Beyond. I have even purchased one at BJs but they have a limited stock. Both home depot and bed bath and Beyond allow you to return rugs at the store even if you ordered them online. I would think lowes has a similar policy, BJs does not. Anything ordered from BJ.com must be shipped back to be returned. This influenced my purchase!
