There aren't many Caribbean restaurants in the entire triangle....much less Clayton. There is a chain in Ralaigh (Bahama Breeze) and some scattered small places...Wake Forest has/had good Cuban chicken place.....I am sure there are others....

No Caribbean but Clayton has Lucky Chicken a Peruvian cuisine restaurant. A hidden gem on Main Street!

Bahama Breeze is NOT Caribbean food. It's so Americanized.

As someone from the islands, I'm still longing for good Caribbean food! I'm thinking about trying some of the pages I've heard about in the Raleigh/Durham area.

Please report back if you try any of the West Indian restaurants in Raleigh. There are a few, but I haven't tried any of them yet. I've had jerk chicken from Virgil's Restaurant's food truck but haven't seen them yet. The jerk was pretty good, the rice & peas were excellent, but it seems like the actual restaurant isn't open much since Virgil is always out in his food truck.

I did say it's a chain. No one expects authentic anything from a chain place, but some people like them.

Thanks all for your feedback. I have tried Bahama Breeze and it's ok but not Caribbean. I have tried Jerk Master in Raleigh and it's ok. I miss getting Caribbean food in NY. There were so many restaurants to choose from but out here it's so hard to find one authentic one.

I want to try this place.

Jamaican Grille - Raleigh, NC | Yelp

There's a Golden Krust and another Jamaican restaurant in Durham, too, but I would expect the overall quality to be a notch below NY.

Golden Krust in Durham is pretty good. I have not had any luck with the ones in Raleigh and keep missing Virgil's food truck. Hopefully I will have my own restaurant or food truck going in by next year. I wish I could do it in Clayton since I live here but I think the demographic would be enough to support it locally.
