I am thinking of going to one tonight for the North CAC. Are they good sources of info, or just a waste of time?

Info from the CAC main website:

"The Chairpersons and other officers are elected from among the members of each CAC neighborhood and items such as rezoning or development plans are discussed at the meetings. The opinions of CAC members and results of any votes taken at CAC meetings are presented to the City Council. The RCAC, the Raleigh Citizens Advisory Council is the overall body made up of the officers of each of the 18 community CACs."

You should go. They are a good way of getting information about the City and about your area of the City in particular. There is usually a report from a law enforcement officers as well as discussion of issues of interest to areas in your CAC district. The Raleigh City Council is going to be discussing CAC boundaries and roles over the next few months so this may be an interesting time to get linked in and involved.

Thanks for the reply. I did make it to the meeting. It was very informative. You do really learn a lot about what new development (commercial and residential) are coming to the area. I was a bit dissapointed by some of the comments made by the public concerning the public supply watershed rules discussed, but I guess that goes with the territory.

Heh...Just watched the news while typing this and they showed their video coverage of the meeting. I actually made it onto the footage. My 0.5 seconds of fame I guess!

The North Raleigh Citizens Advisory Council is having their next meeting tomorrow night. Anybody on this forum planning to go? I have seen several signs posted in the Bedford community about this meeting.

January 3, 2008 at 7:00 p.m.
Millbrook Exchange Park
1905 Spring Forest Road

Here is a link to the Agenda

I can't make this meeting, but would love to hear how it goes if anybody has to the time to post a recap on this board.

Thanks!
