Does anyone know of any dentist that would not turn someone away because they have no insurance or money? I mean literally, nothing. Maybe someone who can do a payment plan of a couple of (less than 50) bucks a month? I got fillings that need, well, refilling, and lately my teeth have all been hurting. I was told some school does it cheap, but I really need some professional help in this.

Thank you for any helpful info.

They are utterly worthless and triple that if you have an acute problem. I tried to get help for my mother, who needed a root canal ($3000). Nowhere around here can you get help (Florida was just as bad when we lived there). If you're pregnant or a child, yes. Anyone else? Tough luck.

Read their ridiculous requirements and their snotty tone:

https://www.dentistry.unc.edu/patien...newpatient.cfm

This part still *$#@s me off: "If your application is selected, your application will be reviewed to determine whether your needs satisfy the School’s educational objectives."

I know they're doing you a favor but jeez louise. You're doing THEM a favor by providing people on which to experime...er train.

Mum ended up having her tooth pulled, at 1/10th the cost of fixing it. So it goes when you don't have dental insurance (and she's almost 80, so no work insurance for her).

Dental insurance itself is a joke, other than exams, x-rays and a handful of cavities. Need any REAL work? Bend over.

Yeah, can't tell I'm bitter much. First world country, my Aunt Fanny.

Some dental insurance is good, some useless.

What I've found is that it's better many times to just pull a tooth instead of going for a root canal and crown. No guarantee the tooth will be saved anyway,

This is the route many dentists are taking now especially if it's a back tooth that can't be seen.

OP, the best you are going to do is set up a payment plan through the dentist's vendor, most of them use the same one.

The UNC Dental school works on a lottery system. Doesn't hurt to submit an application.

I do not plan to have any teeth pulled. Going to die with them all in my mouth. Thank for your posts, all.

I should have also stated I am in Wake Forest.

Anyway, my dentist office of several years will NOT do a payment plan. Guess I will need to call others, find one who can do a dirt cheap one, get my records transferred, and pray they will not hurt me (I have sensitive teeth).
