Hi me and my husband move here in January of 2015, and we have three children. We are looking to move into a home November 1st but I have a "abandonment or eviction" my apartment in Texas from about 5 years ago. I was 19 and stupid and didn't realize that if I wanted to move out I had to go to the apartment office and sign a paper and my roommate sign also. She had gotten into drugs and I had a 1 year old son and a great job so I thought it was best I left.She left a month or two when I did, whether she paid those two months or not I am unsure. Little did I know it would show in my credit 5 years later. Basically I am wondering does anyone know of a realtor or private renter who will still rent to us? My husband has perfect renters credit and I have also with the exception of that one apartment. Any information would be great, would hate to have to live in an apartment again........

Most will go with verifying employment and references from past landlords. That's shouldn't hurt you too bad if you have subsequent positive rental history. Being how young you were Will also be taken into consideration. Be honest but don't provide any negative information unless you have too.
