We are pricing memberships for golf courses and was wondering what some of the triangle memberships charge...including initiation fees( if any) . Many sites won't list their prices. 12 oaks, devils ridge, neuse etc, just want to get a idea to compare/ contrast.

Thanks!

Chapel Ridge, The Preserve at Jordan Lake, and Falls Village offer 3 clubs for one membership.

Monthly dues are about $170 for an individual.
Cart Plan is around $120 if I recall correctly.
Initation fee is usually $1000, but I think they waive the cart fee and range balls for 3 months.

Devils Ridge runs specials all the time but expect the normal initiation fees to be under $1,500. Recently they offered a special with initiation at $250!! Depending on your age and who will be included under the membership (there are different price categories for the younger set), dues can run approx. $400 month for single golf - dues are higher if you include the family for golf membership. However the family is included for the social part - meaning they can partake in anything social at the club at no cost. There are no dining room minimums either.

I belong to the Fred Smith conglomerate. Dues are around $211 per month. A little less if you're a resident in one of their golf course communities. It includes range balls, carts and green fees at Olde Liberty, Eagle Ridge, Hedingham and Riverwood. Additionally, it includes membership at their fitness centers (4) and all of their pools (4). Initiation fees might be negotiable. Initiation fees might be negotiable. This is their "platinum" membership. They have other plans that might suit your needs but I feel that $211 is a great price to pay for all of the privileges listed above. One caveat..... don't expect a lot of "frills".

Thanks so much for the responses! We are in joco so the Fred smith one is looking best for us. Not looking for any " frills", social club, kids activities/pool( we have our own) etc...... Just golf......so that one seems to be the best fit and price compared to the others....

Thanks to all who responded,..it helped a lot!

Keep in mind, of all the clubs being mentioned, Devils Ridge is private; all others are semi-private. That makes a huge difference. IMO, Devils Ridge is the best deal going when compared to all others in that price range.

Offer memberships but open to public. Members get to make tee time further in advance than general public. Semi-private usually have member only events plus some events are open to the public.

If you live in Johnston County be sure to talk with the staff at The Neuse if you are looking for a membership. They usually have some great membership opportunities. Great golf course. Rated 4 1/2 stars by Golf Digest.
