My family and I are trying to research which cities have Jewish communities. I've been hearing that there is a city where many Jews are flocking to??? We would like to continue exposing our children to Jewish culture and be a part of a synagogue. If you can, please help!!
Hi there, don't know much about the Jewish community in those areas, but I can give you some insight if you are looking in Charlotte Best of luck to you in your move!
My familiy and I are reformed Jewish, and are moving to Cary NC in the summer. A good place to start is at the JCC-Y of Raliegh.. http://www.rcjf.org/index.html
When moving to NC, you relaize that you are moving to the south, and it is not a large Jewish area. You need to make a plan to be part of a temple. As my wife says, 'we may have the only menorah in the window' in December!

Charlotte has a large Jewish community. Go online and check out the JCC in Charlotte - I'm sure you could learn more facts there
Well, I don't know about the state as a whole, but since this was posted in the Triangle forum, I'll stick to that....
I don't think any particular city or town is seen as particularly more popular with any religious group really, including Judaism. I know Jewish folks in all the main Triangle cities--- Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Carrboro, Cary, etc. Living in any of those will put you within a very short drive to a synagogue. Some of the smaller towns/suburbs will likely have fewer Jewish folks, though, as you'd probably expect.
From what I understand, Greensboro has a pretty decent sized Jewish population. My neighbor while growing up there was the principal at the Jewish elementary school in town. I was able to experience the culture without converting, it was neat. I know now that I live in Raleigh, that we have at least one temple in town. Being a Catholic, I might not be the best one to be giving advice however.
