Let me preface this by saying I have zero interest in taking this on myself

Noticed today that one vent isn't blowing. Pulled it off. It appears duct fell into crawl space. I'm sure this is an easy fix for someone with the time and inclination. Any recs for a reliable and not exorbitantly expensive company to fix this? It's the vent by the front door so not a tragedy but I don't feel like cooling my crawls pace all summer.

Thanks!

I'm curious: is your crawlspace damp?

I had the same thing happen to me. One of the ducts was filling with water. I had excessive humidity in the crawl space and suspect that was the reason why...has not happened again since we sealed the space.

By excessive I mean that was water droplets on all the pipes and hvac distribution box.

Have not been down there but looking into the hole no. It looks dry and the fallen ductwork is dry.

Went outside and peeked into the crawlspace. Looked dry from that side too

I've used Triangle Comfort Heating and Cooling for duct replacement. I found them honest and trustworthy. Keep in mind that you'll be paying some base fee for getting there in addition to the work. If it's a simple re-attachment maybe you can sweet talk a handy neighbor into helping out? You may run into a problem getting someone out quickly. Every time it hit's the 90s for the first time they get backed and set priorities based on cooling needs.

Good luck!

I have been very happy with Matson/Maximum mechanical, with both quality of work and price.

When it gets installed make sure they use a mastic, not just a tie wrap!
