Normally I'd skip over the resuscitation of a retired, dusty thread but yeah, me too. It's never a bad idea to beat ignorance back with a verbal whack or two.
ADHD is a real thing and if addressed properly can lead to wonderful results. If ignored or treated like it's just about a bratty, insolent child it can lead to disastrous results. How do I know? My son was diagnosed with ADHD 15 years ago and my wife made sure he received the proper support early on. His impressive string of successes as a college student were only possible because his behavioral issues weren't swept under a rug and ignored.
And had we beat him into behaving better he not only wouldn't have reigned in his ADHD, it would have also made him fearful of his parents.
