We're going to Guglhuph tomorrow (sunday morning) before Mama Mia.

Now that Duke at UNC are out...is it still crowded for Brunch?

thanks

I haven't been to a guglhupf brunch that hasn't been packed, any time of year, ever. If you get there early you're in good shape, otherwise, packed.

The Refectory isn't even close to guglhupf in terms of food. That said, I libel walking distance to guglhupf and I have never seen a Saturday or Sunday from 10:30 to 2:30 where there isn't so much overflow parking across the streets and behind it with people standing and waiting on people to finish eating so they could snag the table. It can be stressful eating there at those times. Fosters, right beside it, usually can handle the crowds much better with how it is laid out.

Agree that the crowds at guglhupf are a deterrent. We would go there much more if we knew we wouldn't have to battle for a table, or wait in an uncomfortable line that reaches well into the dining area. It's a very "contentious" dining environment, which is just the opposite of what you want for a relaxing weekend brunch.

They really need to open up another location, or figure out a way to expand. In the meantime, working on the layout of the line/ordering system and the seating approach would help.

Got there at 9:45. Lots of tables, maybe 15 people ahead of us. Not too bad, had to park across the street.

Food was very good.

I agree 100% about how/where you order and how it just invades the entire dining area there. The outside area is just phenomenal, but in another few weeks, it will be too hot to eat out there, and you will see the crowds get even worse since you lose all that seating availability.
