Right now, there are only two public off-leash dog parks that I know of in Wake County. One is in Raleigh - Millbrook Exchange Dog Park, which is mid-North Raleigh. The other is in Cary - on Maynard. Millbrook is free; Cary requires a membership. I understand that Raleigh is planning a second dog park in south Raleigh.

Cindy - good catch. I was just searching the City of Raleigh web site for the status of the new dog park and found that they have opened an off-leash area at Oakwood (as you mentioned) and also at Carolina Pines Park off Lake Wheeler Road! I had no idea those two are there. The website says that those two are daylight only - no lights for after dark dogs.

Regarding UU churches, there is also UU Fellowship of Raleigh; I hear good things about them as well as ERUUF, mentioned above.

Also, there is an association of pet sitters (national) that you should contact about leads for your business, in addition to the Small Business & Technology Development Center, a free resouce for small business in NC.
