We've probably beaten this to death, but TBJ has the financial details and shell counts for various area shows. Chapel Hill looks like the winner ...
The article has the usual TBJ quirks. For example, I might have called it "In ascending order:"

Also, Travel & Leisure Magazine ranked Chapel Hill number 10 in America’s Best Towns for July Fourth Celebrations.

America's Best Towns for July 4th

For the prior poster asking about free shows - I think most towns are. Chapel Hill does request voluntary donations of $1 per person or $5 per family.

If anyone from Garner reads this today: are the rescheduled from last night?
We're in Clayton, but with the rain last night, I don't want to redo last year, which was trudging through smelly swamp water at the Clayton park. the kids couldnt really play because it was so messy-had mud up to our backs by the time we got home.
