Alright, our home is on the market! We live in Raleigh in an area where there is a lot of redevelopment. We love our location but we're looking for a neighborhood that is little quieter with less hustle and bustle. My wife works in downtown Raleigh so we’re looking for anyone out there that commutes downtown daily from Kitts Creek, Bella Casa, 12 Oaks or Bedford. I searched the boards and saw estimates for Bedford around 30 minutes. I just wanted to confirm. Our goal would be right around 30-35 minutes to downtown. I appreciate any insight and taking the time to help.
The Bedford estimate is still accurate. It can take anywhere between 25-30 minutes to get downtown. Worth driving during what would be your typical commute time for specifics. I take Litchford/Atlantic Ave. from Falls Of Neuse downtown.
Falls of Neuse can still be annoying with traffic during morning rush hour. I've noticed the past two years that 7-8am that traffic can get clogged up at the Falls of Neuse & Durant intersection because traffic entering 540 starts backing up on Falls of Neuse...but even with that it usually still only takes 30 minutes for me to get downtown.
Kitts creek will be closer. Depends on traffic, from Bedford, the traffic will be worse than from Kitts Creek. 12 oaks would be farther like 35 min. There is a huge difference in what time you leave the house and come home.
OK. Thanks North Raleigh Guy & Dire Wolf, for the great info. Cardinal Red, We'll get out to the Bella Casa area a few times during rush hour and check it out. Red Zin, construction noise doesn't bother us but thanks for looking out for us!
