wow just got our first full month water bill since moving here.

I was wondering if we're using an exorbitant amount of water for 2 people (421 gallons), or is water just crazy expensive here?

our water and sewer bill is $67, for 1 month.

Water is uber expensive here - 2-3 times what we were paying in Northern Virginia.

Yes water is much more expensive here then LI (I believe that is where you are from too) plus it is water and sewer on your bill so you are getting charged coming and going.

yep, from LI, and haven't paid a water bill in my life, till I moved. (I'm a renter)

my parents have a 1/3 of an acre and several veg/flower gardens. They pay $100 for water for the entire summer.

oh well.

That sounds high for two people. My water bill averages $75 a month for a family of 5 in a 2900 sq foot house. That includes garbage and sewer charge.

When I lived in NY, my water bill averaged $8 a month. Of course my property tax bill was $9000 a year higher when we moved here, currently $12K higher in NY, so I'm not complaining!

we're renting, so they lump water, sewer and trash valet on all 1 bill, $92 for one month. Trash is $25. Trash valet - what a racket. It's so difficult walking across the parking lot to the dumpster

Next door neighbors are moving out b/c they're paying almost $200 a month for water, sewer and trash (family of 4)

I was paying $60/month in Cary back in the early 90's. Now I'm on a well-love it!

Not adding up@$67 for 421 gallons. Cary charges about $4 for 1000 gallons of fresh water and about $9 for 1000 gallons of sewer water (at the lowest tier). Maybe you have a one time set up or some fee or a service charge by the apt.
