Obviously it depends a lot on your budget but the neighborhoods within walking distance of the Trader Joe's shopping center include Kildaire Farms, Kildaire Woods, Macgregor Village, MacDonald Woods, Hanover Place, Stoneybrook, and Wimbledon.

If you would like something unique, check out Bosphorous near downtown cary. It's a small family owned Turkish restaurant, and probably my favorite restaurant in the area.

They have plenty of kid-happy options, a cozy dining area, and if the weather is nice you can sit outside. We love it!

We don't eat out with the kids often. But we've been to TriBeCa Tavern, Sitti and Luganos just name a few with them. You won't have an issue at any but the fanciest places.

There's a new (to me) restaurant called Paisan's that I am going to try with friends tomorrow (Saturday) night. They love the place. The online menu looks great.

Paisan's Italian Ristorante
1275 NW Maynard Road
Cary, NC 27513

Corbetts. Although they only have 2 high chairs that always seem to be in use when we go. We also like Sushi Thai with the kids.

If, by "family friendly", you mean a restaurant where you'll see other kids, I think pretty much every restaurant in Cary is family friendly, except maybe Heron's in The Umstead and An. I would have added Academy Street Bistro to that, but the last time I was there (on a Friday night), there was a family with two kids at the table next to us (outside on the porch).

Really.....parents should know what level of behavior their kids are capable no matter the age....that could be from not being let out the door to fine dining. It's very hard...iif not impossible to say any restaurant is appropriate for anany specific child. .....

Not new. My parents have had 3 terrible meals there before giving up. Others do seem to love it though

First, thanks for posting this, because I'm curious too, about others' experiences. But also, to be fair, I ate there once with my GF and her mother (first time we met) and everyone had a stellar experience, and we are looking forward to returning. (Not to argue, just to give a counter-experience)

I love Enrigo's in Waverly place. Their homemade pasta is great. We occasionally bring the kids, eat in the outdoor area, and let the kids run around in the field, check out the fountains, or head over to the play area. They have free outdoor concerts on Wednesday nights and you can get great gelato or fro yo at one of the places next door for dessert.
