Hummm, I though for sure it would be an option that you would have to purchase. Can't see them not cashing in.
I have this memory of a neighbor talking to my dad, me and my brother in 1970. They were saying TV was soon to be paid for over an electrical cable and would be free of commercials. Where the heck did that idea get derailed?
Although collectively we may not yet realize it, cables end of life is already on the horizon. Almost anyone under the age of thirty tends to use on-demand entertainment options which only requires high-speed connectivity. As multiple providers enter the market the dependency on TWC or any of its peers lessens and once it's no longer required they'll fade away.
And although they've resisted doing so thus far, once premium content providers such as HBO and Showtime accept the inevitable and sell online subscriptions independent of a particular service provider it will accelerate the process.
So let TWC try and earn some loyalty points by giving something away for free; for me it's just too little, too late.

This thread is about their internet speed, not cable TV.
Thank you Google! Once again funny what even the threat of competition one day down the road can do.
YUP. Free enterprise works well. Any time disrupters (uber, google, apple, hulu, etc) enter the picture, the biggest beneficiaries are consumers. Bring it on, wake those lazy execs up, move it or lose it!!!!
