Yep in the grand scheme of things, this news isn't related to this thread at all. Time Warner Cable has no relation to Time Warner Inc. anymore. They were split from each other in 2009 and Charter Communications acquired Time Warner Cable earlier this year.

Time Warner Cable is currently being rebranded as Charter's Spectrum offering and the name "Time Warner Cable" will soon cease to be a thing.

Likewise there was once a company called Time Warner Communications, later called Time Warner Telecom. It was a carrier's carrier and also sold bulk capacity to large businesses. It too was spun off by TW corporate and has disappeared into Level 3.

TW corporate also sold off Time magazine and the music and books businesses of Warner. Appears that only Time-branded, Warner-branded, or TW-branded business still around for AT&T to run is Warner Bros. Entertainment, the movie and TV business.

AT&T's stock has been falling...falling...falling over the last week or 2.

It's interesting to see the cycles of binge/purge/binge/purge.

If AT&T were a person, it would be in the hospital in the Bulimia section.

this one is sure worth your time.
I takes about 20 min to run.
Speed up your Browser with Namebench

I put new DNS settings in router, rather than in each PC.

Interesting. Thanks for that.

Is anyone else experiencing extremely slow internet today? I am in NE Raleigh. CD won't even load, currently using my phone to post. I have TWC/Earthlink and a Arris Surfboard SBG-6700-AC modem router combo. Both 2.4 and 5.8 are slow.

Clear browser history, re-boot your combo.
Then take a crack at NAMEBENCH, mentioned earlier if you have skills to modify DNS in computer or router.
How to Login to the Arris SBG6700-AC

Thanks. I might try it. Last time I did something that far above my pay grade I broke my router and had to buy a new one.

I know how to do two things with my internet. Turn it on, and turn it off...
