I doubt it. I had a pretty frustrating situation with TWC that I was working through with them, and I think they gave me this info to pacify me.
I live in Apex.
Apex is a developing area, I know they have some nice places out there. Wouldn't be too surprised if that date was accurate. Consider they gave 2015 as the rollout date for the entire triangle area if i'm not mistaken. I'm sure different areas will be seeing it at different times, but we should all see it in 2015.
I've heard TWC can be a pain in the ass, but it all depends who you talk to. I work in IT and have to call these places all the time, sometimes I get a dud, sometimes I get someone who is great to talk to and knows what they are doing. IMO TWC still has the best service (customer service, and internet service) in the area and probably will until Google Fiber comes into town. I'm not sure how I feel about ATTs coming gigabit offering though...
In checking my modem yesterday I noticed I am now on a 16x4 channel profile where as before I was 8x4. With the doubling of my downstream channels MAXX should be near, but still on my original speed tier currently.

I have an Arris SB6183 so for me I go to the website http://192.168.100.1 from a computer on my local network which brings up the modem configuration page. Click the status tab and you will see your current channel bonding profile and signal levels. MAXX will require 16 downstream and 4 upstream bonded channels.
Did you buy it, or is it TWC equipment? The H/W page on mine shows it to be an Arris TM502G. Should I be asking TWC for something newer?
I bought it myself. There were only 3 or so on the approved modem list that would support MAXX speeds and that is one of them. Figured I would future proof a bit as it supports DOCSIS 3.1 as well.
I think the approved modem list was posted in earlier in this thread if I'm not mistaken. I looks like the maximum download threshold according to a spec sheet I just found for your modem is 42Mbps so it would not be able to handle MAXX. You may want to ask TWC for a swapout.
I am internet only so thats why I went with the 6183. If you have the TM502 I assume you have the TWC voice service?
