OK - I often feel kind of tech savvy, but hardware stuff has me like this:
But, I just ordered the SB6183 modem, and I already have the ASUS RT-AC66U router. I only have Turbo for internet.
I telecommute and stream video all the time.
I should be all set, right? I guess I can upgrade from "Turbo" too but maybe will wait until there's a speed boost.
I wonder what (if any) incentives for upgrade TWC will trot out when they take MAXX live across the region?
I bumped up to 50/5 to be on board to get 300/20 from the start, but don't know if there would have been other incentives that may have made it unnecessary to do that.

Yeah, I wonder! I feel like it's the right thing to do but I might wait a bit.

Well done for not being a hardware person
I'm a good Googler. I hope the settings on the router are what they need to be

What's funny is all the promotion they're doing right now to get people upgrade their Internet speeds, taking advantage of people who don't know the speed boosts are coming.
"Gee, 50 Mbps sure would be nice...and it's only $20 more! Let's do it!" Not realizing they'll get the boost for free if they just hang on a few more weeks or months.

ATT/UVerse is not relenting either. It's weird advertising, IMO, to offer me $400 gift cards to switch to lower speeds without reference to gigapower.

I bumped mine a couple of weeks ago from Turbo (20Mbps) to Extreme (30Mbps) for $10/mo., knowing that the upgrade is coming. From the reported speeds listed earlier in the thread, that should bump my Maxx speed from 100Mbps to 200Mbps when it finally roles out. That's worth $10 to me.
