1.5 miles away from a school is considered the walk zone.

You know they are fixing the entrance to GHHS this summer? They are adding a right turn lane - I guess last year's fixes were not enough!

Thank you, we are less then that. I was actually surprised when my neighbor told me they provided bus service to our neighborhood because I figured we were considered too close. That makes it even more strange that they elected to keep the one stop in the neighborhood that is the closest to the school.

Yes it is. I actually accused them of not applying this policy fairly, (because we know many people who live within 1.5 miles and still have service), but they continue to insist it's being applied to everyone within a 1.5 mile radius.

There are a couple of routes that have stops within 1.5 miles that I noticed for our school.

Carnage Middle.... most of the stops have vaporized (grayed out). Either a scheduling glitch or serious cost cutting by WCPSS. At any event, I doubt WCPSS will get away without a major clamor from parents for restoring bus stops.

I know people at our school who get service who live within 1.5 miles. I know people who can see the school - clearly- from the back of their house and could walk across the yard and through some trees and be on school property who get a bus. It is utterly ridiculous.

But they must mean business this year because they have half as many buses going to our elementary school this year as they did last year.

I don't understand why they greyed them out. To let people know for sure they weren't just forgotten?

I would NOT be pleased.

I hope you get a bus route. We are submitting a request, but I'm not hopeful.
