We moved here with my wife's job and love it. Lived in Merrimack, NH for 10yrs and then found the green trees in NC

Schools are nice but the current state government is making it worse by losing all the good teachers. Check the ratings next year for Wake county if that really is important. Other than that schools are great, opportunities to learn from private places are ample due to metropolitan size of wake county cities.

Be prepared to pay 7% (Apprx) sales tax on most items. If you are double income, then be prepared to pay high state incomes taxes.

For us property tax was almost same $4000 in NH and $4400 in NC (Cary, NC area).

Social life will be very good regardless of your ethnicity/race/color. It is a good area for kids to growup with multiple ethnicities and cultures around, as they would live when they grow up.

Racism -- some people are still getting used to other races in this area. Generally people are very friendly and easy going.

I know about 30people that moved from NH to NC with Fidelity -- Only complaint is sales tax but weather is good

According to US News and World Reports, NC has 6 high schools in the top 1000 in the nation. Two are in Cary. There is an abundance of gyms and pool clubs
