As someone who lived in Philly for years - jersey mikes is garbage. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I'd put a grand down on a taste test of jersey mikes vs a real steak, or even to some of the best in this area. Easy money. Everything about jersey mikes is wrong.

Not saying one is wrong for liking them, giving my opinion, and responding to the taste test referred to earlier.

I wasn't necessarily talking about cheesesteaks, as that's not what this thread is about in its entirety.

Hasn't been mentioned anywhere in this thread yet, but anyone know where to get a great Beef on Weck? Allegedly, Buffalo Brothers used to have them but had trouble getting good kummelweck rolls so stopped.

Ok...not sure why that's relevant, the person above just posted about beef on weck and that's not what the thread is about "in ita entirety" either...so what? The post didn't specify what kind of sandwich would be suggested for the taste test, I brought up a cheesesteak as it's one of their best sellers and, ironically, horrible, hence my comment about taking the bet. Would be logical to correlate, but that's ok.

Because most of the Jersey Mike's sandwiches referenced were deli sandwiches, not cheesesteaks. (and because nobody yet was saying Jersey Mikes is the best, just that it is "not bad", maybe even "pretty good". I'd never put them up against anyone who is best at what they do though).

That being said, I was in Philly a couple weeks ago, and yelp guided me to Leo's Steak Shop. I got a cheesesteak (wit) and was pretty disappointed. I'm not bagging on all Philly Sandwiches, but I was pretty much shattered that I've waited all my life, and the one I got was a let down.

Plus, everyone knows the best sandwiches are found in Pittsburgh anyway. #iwishtheyhadapokingstickemoticon....

Whoa whoa whoa, nobody ever claimed Jersey Mike's has good cheessteaks. That's a whole different category.
