Grease splattered over my stove top yesterday. Sprayed some degreaser over it and let it sit. When I wiped it off it left a stain/discoloration all over my stove. Tried all sorts of stuff to get it off. Nothing seems to work. I THINK my stove is ceramic, but not sure. Any advice on how to remove the stains?

If it is the glass looking ceramic, get a new flat razor blade (it is easier with the scraper handle) and spray some 409 or other cleaner on it (this cleaner is really a lubricant at this stage, so I guess you could put some oil or something, it would just be more to clean). Scrape off any residue that is high, then clean it off. Once that is done, the Barkeepers Friend or Soft Scrub or a product called Cerama Bryte will be much easier to use to get the remainder off.

I had two different ceramic ranges for about 10 years and this technique always worked for me with no scratches.
