You live in Maui? Do you know a woman named Connie who's originally from New York? Statistically it's more likely you know her than my knowing which neighborhood and house would be a good fit for your family.

Try throwing out your budget numbers, the number of bedrooms, lot size, type of construction and any other details that might give the City Data community a clue.

Almost the entirety of Wake County is family friendly. It's kind of Raleigh's thing, like Maui's thing is tropical beauty and beaches. The best place would most likely be close to your job.

Do you know anything at all about the area you've picked to move to?

Most of Raleigh, and its surrounding areas, is very family-friendly. You'll need to look around for yourself and see what appeals to you. Your question is far too generic and there is no "one answer" or even "50 answers".

Where will your job be located? IT's easy to live near work and cut down on commute while still being in a family-friendly area.

HA! that made laugh out loud. Although on the serious side, I have three kids and looking to relocate to the area. And we are looking for a 3-4 bedroom house to rent first (buy once settled), looking around the 2000 sq' sized house. As a family we are interested in decent public schools, parks, low-crime and drugs, friendly people, and just more or less a family oriented town or community. Thanks.
