Good time to get some cheap-ish gas as Sheetz starts well below the market price for a couple weeks usually before coming up gradually.

Just had the same conversation this morning. They did the same when opened in Morrisville on Chapel Hill rd.

I thought I read before that there was a law that allowed a new gas station to sell cheaper than normal for the first few weeks.

No idea what the law is but every time I have seen a Sheetz open the prices are the lowest around and I take advantage while it lasts.

I'm pretty sure a gas station can charge whatever it wants - there's no law dictating the prices they have to charge.

A number of states do have minimum markup laws, Wisconsin perhaps the most notable for the legal challenges over it. One federal court found it unconstitutional, but that decision was overturned.

I don't know if NC has such a law.
