Shake Shack now in Atlanta. Lines outside resemble Madison Square Park in NYC. People in New York stand in line 45min to an hour everyday during their lunch hour. I never had the patience.

OK, let me try to explain WC Lounge

Yes, it will probably hurt your stomach 12 hours (if you're lucky) later. But if you're all about immediate gratification then a slider will do it. Onions --- um .... um .... um... well there's something else about them I love but I gotta go now ... sorry!

Oh... that's kinda what I said back when I used meth. A little eerily similar, actually.

I have a sensitive stomach, so I doubt I'll ever try WC. lol My BFF is in the Bronx. He used to threaten to take me to WC before taking me to the airport. Some friend, huh? lol

Shake Shack is more hype than anything. I like their burgers but it's not only not the best burger I've ever had, it's not even better than Five Guys. But if I go to Citifield for a game, my first 45 minutes is spent standing on their line because my kids are sheep.

There's nothing great about White Castle. It's cheap, it's always open and tastes really good when you're drunk and hungry at 2:00 AM. Then you remember the experience fondly into your adulthood and so keep going every now and again (but never too much, it's occasionally rough on the system).

As for Smashburger, it's neat and a nice alternative to Five Guys but not much else.

Ah, okay then... so it's kinda like the burger equivalent to a Waffle House, then?

Not to be sarcastic. But I did just scroll to the top to make sure I didn't accidentally go to the Colorado thread. Lol. Off topic as well is White Castle fascination. I think its not so much the quality but the nostalgia. IMHO cookout has best fast food burgers hands down.

I do love Cook Out, but to say theirs are the best.... I don't know if I could go that far, if we're considering all regional chains. I do think they're the best fast food chain overall in North Carolina, but their burgers to me just aren't anything really fantastic. They're good, but I'd be hesitant to put their burgers against Whataburger or In-N-Out.

I read these threads and then I'm so excited when these establishments come to the area and then I'm sooooo disappointed when I go!

I think it is either a nostalgic thing or a different taste bud thing.

Who was it that was so excited when Chubby's Tacos opened? I waited in line to try it. Meh! I was in Greensboro, went to Friendly's. Couldn't figure out what was so special. When Trader Joe's came to Cary, I tried many things. All I could figure was people liked cheap vegetables from other countries! Or cheap wine.

The list goes on and on. So again, I think...either nostalgic or my taste buds are just different.

Next...
