I think we're fairly close to the time of year there's regular solar interruptions with communications satellites (even the big one's the CableCo's use). Might be funky (good word, BTW) for a few days. OTOH, could just be a critter chewing on the RG6 coax on a utility pole. Give it a little time, while you're waiting go read "From Scratch: Inside the Food Network" by Allen Salkin. It's a fun read and offers some explanation why TFN is so horrible these days.

Not on food network but it was happening to me on another channel. I called, and the guy had me reboot (again) then told me to wait two weeks and if it's not better they might send someone out.

Um...ok.

So I called right back, and the higher level tech had me unplug both the coax cable from the box, and the pug from the wall - that seemed to do the trick.

I fix that and messages that show WRONG percentage of DVR being full by doing this every two weeks:
  1. Remove power cord from back.
  2. Depress & hold power switch depressed for 30 seconds.
  3. Plug it back in, let it re-boot and all is well for another two weeks of HD show recording.
