some of the ugliest housing that I have ever seen has been built since 1995. I drive by these places and think how depressing it would be to have to call one of these ugly, poorly built houses home. It baffles me that people actually like a treeless, cookie cutter hood that is a car ride away from an endless stream of chain restaurants and strip centers. These dime a dozen places are a poor investment today and will be full of renters in 25 years. Most ITB neighborhoods have stood the test of time and are far more eye pleasing than new similar housing. We have some drop dead gorgeous new hoods, but many are poorly planned and just fugly.

I think that the program guest was saying that the benefits are going to transplants while the majority of North Carolinians were being left behind.
