Monthly dues are around $450, but realistically, expect at least $600/month after dining, golf carts etc...

Preston Village has its own pool. The yearly neighborhood association fee covers the use of the pool. The neighborhood also has it own park and a small pond where you can fish.

Green Hope Elementary is located in the neighborhood, as is the park belonging to the Town of Cary.
I believe she said she wants a pool- not golf. Golf dues are close to $500 a month now.
Social only is about $190 a month in dues not counting initiation.

Not sure what we are paying now, but it is irrelevant since the monthly invoice is always higher.
TBH, IMHO, full golf membership is not worth the price. I will keep my opinions as to why to myself. Suffice it to say that we are leaving the club in 2015.

Thanks, all! Sounds like PV is out if I can't find anything (not backing up to Davis Drive) for ~500K. So I am still considering Cary Park and Carpenter Village. We plan to return around New Year and will hopefully make a decision where to rent and register for Kinder then if not before.

Curious as to why you think full golf is not worth it. We are considering moving from golf to social. Love to hear your opinions. Feel free to PM me.

I checked the bill last night- golf is currently $490 a month. Of course, add cart fees, locker fees (my DH has one), beer : ) etc. the bill is a lot higher.

I live in CP. Is it a distance from Cary proper? Yes, seems that way at times, but retail life is improving immensely and I don't feel the need to consider Cary a destination anymore than Durham or Raleigh. South point Mall is 20 minutes away max. Beaver creek in Apex is 15 minutes away. We go to Cary and Raleigh for kids' sporting events with equal frequency. DH and I work in Durham and Morrisville, so CP is much more convenient for us than anything further south on 55. Tons of kids in CP, walking trails, good schools. Not a lot of neighborhood cohesion in parts - honestly I think people are too busy working and shuttling kids around to hang out much with neighbors unless they share children's activities. There are certain areas in CP known for close-knit adult living if that's your thing-ask around, otherwise, kids rule the networking scene. We've enjoyed living here.

I drive through/by Preston hoods on the way to Wednesday activities. If my life was centered in Cary or High House are, I could see draw to being closer, although there are neighborhoods down that way I would consider alongside Preston.
