wanted some insight from any military families in the triangle with Tri-care (prime) . I would like some recommendations on providers who accept Tri-care AND provides good care . I would need a pediatrician , Dentist , Derm , Eye doctor and a primary . I have researched online but was hoping to get some solid leads on good providers on here. Most importantly which hospital is best with our insurance Duke /UNC ? I have a child with special needs ( adhd ,odd and ASD) if anyone knows of good providers that accept tri-care for him would be great . Ill be living in FV but I'm willing to drive no more then 40 min for specialist - I wish to keep all other providers with 30 minutes - Thanks in advance for any input
We have Tricare prime and reside near FV. I would recommend Western Wake Pediatrics in Cary, especially Dr. Monica Shelton. She is fantastic. It normally takes us about 20 minutes to get to their offices. Wake Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry in Garner also accepts Delta Dental.

thank you very much for the input , I checked out their websites and they look very promising !! - what about primary for adults ( if you don't mind sharing ) - I need to find one and also a gyn - The move is scary enough but choosing DR in a unfamiliar area is just as stressful, lol

My primary care doctor is also in Cary, my husband also has the same doctor, but chooses to get some of his care at the VA in Durham. He actually prefers the VA. Anyway, I found my doctor through the Tricare website and just took my chances, and found that I like her. However, she has had mixed reviews online, so I would recommend looking at the Tricare website. As far as hospitals go, we have only had experience with Wake Med, and they had no problem accepting Tricare Prime. All of the hospitals here provide exceptional care. Can't recommend a GYN, but I did have a mammogram at Duke Raleigh Hospital and had no problems. Good Luck!
