Where would I go for advice on what Encore Azaleas work best for our area?

How would I track down a nursery in the area that would sell us about 100 at a great price?

I appreciate any hints or help here.

George Tabor Pinks do well here. I recommend Taylor's in Raleigh or Neuse Plant and Bark in Smithfield...if they still sell retail.

George Tabor Pinks are gorgeous with their two-toned blooms.

Looks like Taylor's and Neuse Plant & Bark both carry Encore Azaleas. I'll check with them.

Thanks a million.

Thanks. But the last time I checked, neither they or McLamb's had Encore Azaleas. Apparently, they are patented and only certain nurseries can sell them.

Who knew?

Here are the varieties of Encore Azaleas:

Encore® Azalea: The world's best-selling multi-season blooming azalea

Here's a store locator:

Encore® Azalea: The world's best-selling multi-season blooming azalea

Encores are not cheap at all, so I doubt you'd get a good price on them like regular azaleas.

if Wal-Mart and Sam's Club sell them, they're sure not an exclusive plant. I have 5 of them, they're great plants but slow growing.

They had a bunch of them for sale for five bucks each at the ReStore a few months ago. I think they're donated by developers who buy too many for their projects.
