Other than a few slips of the tongue out of habit by the governor calling Raleigh, "Charlotte", and a reply to a challenging question (that I couldn't make out) in which he calls a group "left wing", I thought it was a nice signing ceremony with our mayor. Too bad he spent most of the time talking and she had so little time.
While this deal still needs to be financed, and that is a big hurdle, it is good to see a good deal finally signed. Glad to see the thanks handed out to all involved, especially to Mr. Pope for all he has done.
The Mayor seemed nervous when speaking, which is probably why she spoke so fast and finished her speech a bit early. But glad to see that both were able to say everything they wanted to and show that some people really can work together, regardless of what some other people like to say about them.
Somehow the people on WRAL's comment section still manage to portray this as a bad thing. The property is never going to be a hospital again, do these people really think that Dorothea Dix would have preferred it be used for offices than a park for everyone?

I stopped reading comments on WRAL a long time ago. I couldn't believe the garbage I read on there.

I always liked them, as I enjoy seeing the views of "both" sides and also seeing them go at it. I don't know how both sides will complain about this deal, but they will.....LOL!
